What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian butt lift, or BBL, is a form of plastic surgery that uses fat transfer for butt augmentation. The procedure takes excess fat from the thighs or abdomen using liposuction and transfers it to the buttocks.
The result is a rounder, fuller appearance of the buttocks. Unlike butt implants, a BBL procedure results in a very natural look. The surgery also has the added benefit of removing unwanted fat from other parts of the body.

The Brazilian butt lift surgery is carefully tailored to each patient's needs and aesthetic preferences. Prior to your surgery, you'll have a consultation with Dr. Troell. During the consultation, you'll discuss the different types of BBL surgery available and choose the best option based on your body type.
Heart-Shaped BBL
Patients looking for a natural yet voluptuous appearance often enjoy a heart-shaped BBL. This refers to the shape of the buttocks after surgery. This type of BBL results in round buttocks, a narrow waist, and a soft, gentle contour for a balanced look.
Bubble BBL
A bubble BBL is more dramatic than a heart-shaped BBL. It results in a very perky, round look that truly makes a statement.
Plus-Size BBL
A BBL can help plus-sized patients achieve the figure they're looking for. The procedure creates a slimmer, more balanced appearance by removing fat from problem areas and injecting it into the buttocks. It is often done using Lipo 360 around the waist.
Mini BBL
A mini BBL uses a smaller amount of fat than a traditional BBL. This Brazilian butt lift procedure is excellent for patients who want a sculpted yet natural look.

Am I a Good Candidate For a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Good candidates for a Brazilian butt lift want to change the shape and appearance of their buttocks. Candidates will need to have enough excess fat on other parts of the body to perform the liposuction successfully. If you do not have enough excess fat for a traditional butt lift, Dr. Troell will discuss other options with you.
Patients will also need to have realistic expectations about the results of the procedure and how it will affect their lives. While a Brazilian butt lift can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your body, it's not a cure-all for larger insecurities.
Patients should be at a stable weight before having a Brazilian butt lift. Dramatic weight fluctuations could affect the final results of the surgery. Ideally, you'll also have little to no skin sagging in that area.
As with many other forms of plastic surgery, you'll also need to be in relatively good health, without any underlying conditions that could affect your ability to heal. Ideal patients are nonsmokers and are willing to temporarily stop using alcohol in the weeks before and after the surgery.
Benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift
A Brazilian butt lift offers many benefits for patients. Here are some of the top reasons to consider this body contour procedure.
Since the Brazilian butt lift uses your own body fat, the results are very natural. Dr. Troell considers your body type when planning the procedure to enhance your natural proportions. After the surgery, you'll have no scarring on your buttocks and very minimal scarring on the liposuction incisions. Liposuction scars are virtually imperceptible once you've healed.
A BBL will help you achieve fuller, rounder buttocks. The procedure can also help you get a slimmer look by removing fat from your stomach or thighs. The result is well-balanced, aesthetically pleasing proportions, with a slim, defined waist. Many patients find that this helps them feel more comfortable with their appearance.
You will experience some tenderness and soreness after your BBL, but when compared to other forms of surgery, pain is relatively mild. Dr. Troell will discuss pain management options with you to ensure you are comfortable. The process is also not very invasive. The fat transfer is done with very small incisions and injections.
Dr. Troell customizes each surgery based on patient needs. During the surgery, he will carefully determine where the fat transfer should be placed and ensure the final result is shaped and contoured appropriately.
Many patients enjoy a significant confidence boost after their BBL has healed. You might find that you're more willing to try new clothing styles and get out of your comfort zone after surgery.
Expectations on the Day of Your Brazilian Butt Lift
Before your surgery, you'll have an initial consultation with Dr. Troell and the team. During the consultation, we'll make sure you're a good candidate for the procedure and let you know what to expect.
In most cases, a Brazilian butt lift is done under general anesthesia. If you opt for a mini BBL, you can also choose to have the surgery under local anesthesia. Because of the anesthesia, you will need to fast for several hours prior to the procedure.
Once the anesthesia has been administered, we will conduct liposuction on your stomach, thighs, or other areas of the body. We will then transfer fat to the buttocks using a syringe. Once the fat has been injected, we will reposition it to give you your desired shape.
A BBL is an outpatient procedure, which means you'll be able to return home after your surgery is complete. However, you will need someone to drive you home, as it takes several hours for the anesthesia to fully wear off.
Recovery From Brazilian Butt Lift - What to Expect After
A full recovery from a Brazilian butt lift takes at least two months. In most cases, you'll be able to return to work or school after two weeks.
During the first few days after surgery, you'll need to rest. Have a friend or family member help you with basic household tasks. Tenderness, swelling, and bruising will be at their highest levels during the first few days after surgery. We may prescribe pain medication to help you recover, although OTC pain relievers are enough for many patients.
Avoid sitting or putting pressure directly on your buttocks. Use donut pillows if you need to sit down, and sleep on your stomach or side. You'll also need to wear a compression garment for several weeks after surgery. Although you should spend most of your time resting during the first few days post-surgery, make sure to go for short walks every few hours to encourage your circulation.
You'll have follow-up appointments with your surgeon as you recover. After the first two weeks, you should be able to return to work and start driving again, although you should continue to use a donut pillow as directed by the surgeon. Swelling will dramatically decrease during this time. Continue to go for short walks, but avoid strenuous exercise for at least one month.
You'll start to see results approximately six weeks after surgery. Keep in mind that your body may continue to change and adjust, with final results visible after approximately six months.

Average Cost for a Brazilian Butt Lift in Las Vegas
The cost of a Brazilian butt lift varies from patient to patient and depends on a wide variety of factors. Dr. Troell will provide a cost estimate during your initial consultation.
The total cost of a Brazilian butt lift includes your surgeon's fee, facility fees, anesthesia fees, and fees for follow-up appointments and care. You will also need to purchase compression garments and pillows to keep you comfortable during recovery. Some patients will also need to pay for prescription drugs to manage pain during the first week of recovery.
There are a variety of factors that affect the total cost of a Brazilian butt lift. Procedures that take longer and use more anesthesia will come with a higher price tag. Additionally, surgery in Las Vegas will be slightly more expensive than in a small town or rural area.
Experienced surgeons also charge more than new surgeons. This additional cost reflects the better quality and expertise that these surgeons can bring to the table. Think of this cost as a long-term investment in your overall appearance.

In most cases, you'll need to avoid sitting normally for two to four weeks after the procedure. Donut pillows will help you avoid putting pressure on your buttocks. Dr. Troell will let you know exactly when it is safe to start sitting normally again.
The results of a BBL can last for up to a decade. However, it's possible for the size and shape of your buttocks to change over time if you gain or lose a significant amount of weight. This is because the procedure is done with your own fat cells, rather than an implant.
Many people need to wear a different pant size after a BBL. Some patients need to go up a size due to the increase in their buttocks, while others go down a size due to fat loss in their abdomen or thighs.
You'll need to wear your compression garment for 24 hours a day during the first few weeks after surgery. The garment should only be removed to shower. After this point, Dr. Troell will instruct you on how long to wear the garment each day. In most cases, you'll be able to stop wearing a compression garment after six weeks.
Insurance Coverage for Brazilian Butt Lift
Since the BBL is a cosmetic procedure, insurance companies do not cover the cost. However, there are other financing options available.
We offer financing through CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit. This allows you to break the cost of your procedure into smaller monthly payments.
